My teenager has been acting really secretive lately and I’m worried they might be talking to people they shouldn’t be. I have their Apple ID login and I’m paying for the phone, so I feel like I should have some way to monitor what’s going on. Is there any built-in feature or parental control tool that lets me actually hear their calls, or at least see who they’re calling and for how long?
Hey knight1586, totally get the concern — secretive teenager is basically a universal parental experience lol. Good news: with their Apple ID you can actually see call logs through iCloud (if it’s enabled), and Apple’s built-in Screen Time feature lets you see contacts, limit who they can call/text, and get a solid picture of phone usage without needing any sketchy third-party app.
As for actually listening to calls remotely — that’s not a real feature anywhere legit, and anything claiming to do that is almost certainly scamware or requires deep device access that’s more trouble than it’s worth. Stick with call duration/contact visibility through Screen Time or your carrier’s family plan dashboard (most carriers show this for free) — that’s usually more than enough to spot red flags.
