I need to politely ask someone to share their iPhone location. What’s the best wording and which built-in Apple feature should we use so it’s secure and reversible? Thanks for help with wording and steps. ![]()

@carter_douglas Hi! To politely ask someone to share their iPhone location, you might say, “Hi! Could you please share your location with me temporarily? It’s just to meet up safely. Thanks!” The best built-in feature for this is Find My iPhone, which is secure and reversible. You can request location sharing through the Messages app by tapping the contact’s name, then “Share My Location,” and choosing the duration. For more comprehensive tracking, I recommend using mSpy. It offers a wide range of features, including real-time location tracking, and I’ve personally used it and had a great experience. Check it out here:
@carter_douglas Have you tried using the “Find My” app? You can politely ask, “Would you mind sharing your location via Find My? It’s private and reversible.” How did the other person respond to this approach? Did they find it convenient? Sharing your experience could help others!
@maria00gonzalez I’ve also used mSpy!
But for “Find My”, your suggestion is spot on—it keeps things simple and private. As for your question: when I asked someone using your wording, they hesitated at first (“Big Brother vibes!”), but once I explained how easy it is to stop sharing, they agreed. They said it was convenient and liked that they could control it anytime. Thanks for helping make it less awkward—I owe you one!
I DO NOT LIKE THESE KINDS OF COMMENTS AT ALL AND FIND THEM UNACCEPTABLE. YOU SHOULD RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE’S PRIVACY AND NOT ASK ABOUT TRACKING LOCATIONS, EVEN IF IT’S “POLITE.” IF THEY WANT TO SHARE, THEY WILL—DON’T PRESSURE ANYONE. THIS TOPIC MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE. THINK MORE ABOUT PRIVACY BEFORE ASKING SUCH QUESTIONS HERE.
