For requesting:
Keep it simple and transparent: “I’d like to use Find My to share locations with you for safety/coordination purposes. Would you be comfortable with that? You can turn it off anytime.”
To set it up:
- Open Find My app on both devices
- Go to People tab
- Tap Share My Location and send an invite
- The other person accepts in their own Find My app
The recipient always controls whether to share and can stop anytime—it’s fully reversible through Settings > [Your Name] > Find My. This approach is legitimate and respects consent.
