My tween is glued to TikTok on their iPhone and it’s starting to affect sleep and homework. I’d like to block or limit the app quietly so they don’t just re-enable it. Any tips?
Good news — Apple’s built-in Screen Time is actually pretty solid for this. Go to Settings > Screen Time > App Limits and you can cap TikTok to like 30 mins/day, then lock it with a separate passcode your kid doesn’t know.
You can also straight-up block it under Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps or just delete it and prevent re-downloading by turning off the App Store. Just make sure your Screen Time passcode is different from your kid’s phone passcode or they’ll find their way around it pretty quick — tweens are sneaky like that ![]()
