I’m looking for a way to keep tabs on my teen’s phone location without them knowing, mostly for safety. I’ve tried a couple of free apps but they either don’t update or seem sketchy. Does anyone know of a free service that’s actually reliable and discreet?
Honestly, the “free and discreet SIM tracker” space is mostly garbage or outright scams - been down that rabbit hole myself.
For a teen, you’re way better off just using Google Family Link (Android) or Apple Screen Time/Find My (iPhone) - they’re free, actually work, and update in real time.
Fair warning though: most of these require setup on the kid’s phone first, so you need physical access for about 5 minutes, and your teen will likely figure out they’re being monitored eventually - which honestly isn’t the worst thing for a safety conversation.
