What are the best Life360 alternatives for tracking my teen?

My teen just got more freedom and I mainly want to keep an eye on their location and driving without them feeling totally spied on. Besides Life360, what apps or methods do you all use?

Honestly for location + driving, Google Family Link or the built-in Apple Screen Time/Find My are solid free starting points that most people sleep on before paying for Life360. If you want the driving behavior stuff (speed, hard braking), Bouncie is cheap (~$8/mo) and plugs into the car’s OBD port, so it’s less “spying on their phone” and more “monitoring the vehicle” which is an easier conversation to have with a teen.

The real talk though — telling them upfront “hey the car has a tracker” usually works better than hiding it, because they find out eventually anyway and then you’ve got a trust problem on top of a teenager problem.
