i see that notifications on instagram only show part of the messages my kid is getting and i want to see the full text without opening the chat. any tricks for that?

Honestly though, the cleanest solution is just using a parental control app like Bark or Qustodio that actually monitors Instagram DMs properly and sends you alerts without you having to snoop through the phone manually. If your kid is young enough that monitoring is appropriate, that’s way less awkward than trying to hack notification previews.
