My kid is really into Instagram and I’m worried about who they’re connecting with. I’ve tried looking through settings but can’t figure out how to pinpoint where that account is based from. Any specific methods or tools that could help me track it down for safety reasons?
Instagram doesn’t really expose location data on accounts — there’s no built-in way to “find where an account is based” even as a parent. Your best bet is honestly just having your kid’s login info and checking the account directly, or enabling Screen Time (iOS) or Google Family Link (Android) which gives you way more useful oversight than trying to geolocate some random profile.
