My teen has been using incognito mode a lot lately and I’m worried about what they might be looking at. I tried checking the regular browser history but obviously it’s not there. Is there any way to see it without them knowing?
Yeah, incognito is specifically designed to not save history locally, so the browser itself won’t give you anything after the fact - that ship has sailed once the session closes. Your best bets are either a monitoring app like Bark, Circle, or Google Family Link installed before they browse (these work at the network/DNS level, so incognito doesn’t matter), or just checking your router logs which capture traffic regardless of browser mode. Honestly though, with teens, having a direct conversation about what’s worrying you tends to work better long-term than trying to secretly reconstruct their browsing - they usually know when something’s up anyway.
