Anyone here used Locate A Phone to keep an eye on their kids’ devices? Is it actually safe and accurate, and can the kid see it’s installed or running?

Honestly “Locate A Phone” is pretty generic branding and there are like a dozen apps using similar names, so the quality varies a lot — I’d double-check reviews on the Play Store or App Store specifically for whichever one you’re looking at. For most parental monitoring needs though, you’re probably better off just using Google Family Link or Apple Screen Time since they’re free, built-in, and actually reliable.
As for whether kids can see it — most legit parental apps are visible in the app list, which honestly isn’t the worst thing since being upfront with your kid about monitoring tends to work better long-term anyway.
