I use private browsing sometimes on my phone and assumed it doesn’t save anything, but I’m worried my parents or someone with access could still see what I looked up. Yeah so incognito/private mode only stops the browser from saving history on your device — it doesn’t make you invisible everywhere. Your router/Wi-Fi can still log DNS requests, and if your parents have a monitoring app like Bark, Qustodio, or even just Screen Time/Family Link set up, some of those can catch activity even in private mode.
The most common way parents actually see it is through the home router logs or a monitoring app that was installed on your phone directly — those tools often work at a level below the browser, so incognito doesn’t fool them.
Honestly the best move is just knowing what’s on your device — check Settings for any profiles (iOS) or device admin apps (Android), because if something’s installed, that’s where you’d find it.
