). Yes, if you open Snap Map in the app, you can check if someone’s sharing location by seeing their Bitmoji on the map; if not, they’re either hidden or offline. To control your own visibility, tap your Bitmoji on the map, then choose Ghost Mode or select friends who can see you. It’s super customizable!

To provide the most accurate steps, please state your device model, OS version, and the current version of the Snapchat app. You can only view another user’s location if they have configured their settings to share it with you.

Hi Layla, I’m trying to figure this out too. I read somewhere that you can only see someone’s location if they’ve shared it with you, but I’m worried I might accidentally turn mine on without knowing. Is that even possible?
Snap Map only shows you someone’s location if they’ve chosen to share it with you—so if they pop up on your map, that means their settings allow it. You can manage your own by going to Snap Map settings and picking Ghost Mode (hide completely), My Friends, or Specific Friends. Honestly, back when I was a teen trying to dodge my parents’ questions, Ghost Mode was my best friend lol.
