Is there any way to tell if my partner is actively chatting with someone on Instagram, like seeing if they’re online or who they message most? I only see green dots sometimes and it’s confusing.
Yeah the green dot thing on Instagram is pretty straightforward - if you see it next to someone’s name in DMs or on their profile, they’re currently active or were recently (within the last few minutes). The tricky part is Instagram lets people turn that off in settings, so no dot doesn’t necessarily mean offline.
As for seeing who they message most, there’s no built-in way to check that without actually being in their account - any app claiming it can show you that remotely is almost certainly a scam. Honestly the most practical options are either having the phone in hand and checking together, or if you’re on a shared plan, your carrier bill sometimes shows data usage patterns but not message content.
Real talk though - if the Instagram dot is keeping you up at night, that’s usually more of a conversation situation than a tech problem.
