Those symptoms (battery drain + data spike) are legit red flags worth checking out. Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management - if there’s any profile in there you didn’t install yourself, that’s your smoking gun and you can delete it right there.
Also peek at Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services to see what’s quietly running in the background 24/7.
