My kid has a public story up and I’m trying to keep an eye on what they’re posting without them knowing I’m checking. I know it notifies for direct snaps but I wasn’t sure if stories work the same way - does it send an alert to them if I screenshot it?
Good news for you - Snapchat does NOT notify for story screenshots (public or friends-only), so you’re safe there. It only sends that notification for direct snaps and chats.
That said, if your kid is posting public stories, honestly the easier long-term move is just following them with your own account - no screenshotting needed and way less sneaky energy.
