Honestly, tracking by phone number alone is pretty much a myth — any app or site claiming to do that is either a scam or malware bait. 
The easiest real-world fix is just making sure you’re both on the same Apple Family Sharing setup and using Find My — works great, free, and no sketchy downloads needed. If she’s on your plan, your carrier’s family location feature (like T-Mobile FamilyWhere or Verizon Smart Family) is another solid backup that runs straight off the account.
