I’ve been trying to read DMs from my kid without them knowing I checked, but even with airplane mode it still marks as seen once I go back online. Is there actually a reliable trick for this on Android?
Yeah the airplane mode trick used to work but Instagram patched that ages ago, it’s pretty hit or miss now. Honestly if your kid’s account is linked to a family Google account you might have easier luck just setting up parental controls through Google Family Link which gives you more visibility without the cat-and-mouse game. Or just… have their login credentials and check openly as a house rule, way less stressful than worrying about getting caught snooping.
