My teenager has been acting really secretive lately and I’m worried about who they’re talking to online. I’ve looked into the built-in screen time settings but they only show app usage, not messages or social media activity. Could anyone recommend a reliable app or method that gives me full visibility without them noticing?
Hey super98, welcome to the forum! For iPhones, your best bet without a lot of drama is sharing an Apple Family account - you get Screen Time controls, app approvals, and location, which covers most bases for a teenager.
If you want to see actual message content you’re looking at something like Bark or Qustodio, which flag concerning stuff rather than showing you everything (honestly better anyway - do you really want to read every teen conversation?
).
Fair warning though: anything deeper than that requires physical access to install something, and the “invisible” monitoring apps you see advertised are mostly overhyped - iOS is pretty locked down compared to Android.
