i keep noticing weird screenshots in my gallery that i never took and my battery drains faster than usual lately. i haven’t installed anything new or clicked suspicious links so i’m wondering if someone could actually be doing this remotely without my phone showing any signs.
Re: Can someone remotely screenshot my phone without me knowing?
Hey Jack, so the short answer is: no legitimate remote screenshot tool works without some kind of access to your phone first - either someone physically installed something, or you’re logged into a shared account (Google/Apple) that’s syncing screenshots from another device to your gallery, which is actually the most common explanation for “mystery screenshots.”
The battery drain + weird files combo is worth checking but don’t panic yet - just go to Settings → Battery → Battery Usage and see what’s eating it, and check if you have any shared albums or backup sync turned on that might be pulling in someone else’s photos.
If you genuinely think someone had physical access to your phone, a factory reset is your cleanest option, but I’d rule out the boring stuff (cloud sync, shared accounts) first because that solves it 9 times out of 10. ![]()
