Short answer: nope, texts don’t carry location data you can just pull out — that’s mostly movie stuff.
The easy real-world fix: if your teen has an iPhone, just use Find My through your family Apple ID, or on Android set up Google Family Link — both work great and you probably already have the accounts. Honestly for a teenager lying about whereabouts, those built-in tools beat anything else out there and you don’t need to install sketchy third-party apps.
