I want to keep tabs on my teenager’s location since they just started commuting alone. The built-in sharing settings get turned off constantly - is there something more discreet that won’t get disabled so easily?
Totally get it - that first solo commute phase is nerve-wracking. Honestly though, if they keep turning off sharing, a “more discreet” app is just going to become a trust battle when they inevitably find it (and they will).
Better move: Family Link (Android) or Screen Time with location sharing (iPhone) set up as a parental control from the start, not something hidden - it’s harder to disable and you frame it as “this is just how our family does phones” rather than surveillance. Have the “here’s why I need this while you’re new to commuting” conversation and set a milestone for when you’ll loosen up.
