My kid has an iPad for school but I’m on Android so I can’t use Screen Time controls directly from my phone - is there any way to set limits or check usage remotely without needing an Apple device? I’ve tried logging into iCloud from a browser but it doesn’t seem to give me the parental control options I need.
Yeah iCloud.com on a browser is pretty limited for that stuff - Apple really does wall off the good Screen Time controls to Apple devices only, which is annoying if you’re an Android household.
Your best bet is a cross-platform app like Bark, Qustodio, or Google Family Link (yes, Family Link actually works on iPads now) - you set it up on the iPad once and manage everything from the Android app on your end. One-time setup, then you’re good to go from your phone.
If you want to keep it free, borrow an Apple device just long enough to set Screen Time up with restrictions and a passcode your kid doesn’t know - once it’s configured it just runs on its own without you needing an iPhone to maintain it.
