Can a phone screen recorder hidden app be detected easily?

I’m worried something is running in the background but I don’t see any weird icons. Do these sneaky tools still show up in the battery usage or data logs if I look closely enough?

Yeah, most of the time these things do leave traces — battery drain and data usage are actually pretty solid places to look, since a screen recorder running in the background can’t really hide that it’s consuming resources.

On Android, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Usage and look for anything unfamiliar chewing through power. Same deal with Settings > Network > Data Usage — sort by highest usage and see if anything looks off.

If you’re on iPhone, Screen Time and the battery breakdown under Settings are your friends — Apple’s sandbox makes it pretty hard for anything truly “invisible” to run wild without showing something.
