My daughter has been acting really secretive lately and I’m worried about who she’s messaging. The standard parental controls don’t show me enough, so is there any way to view her actual conversations?
Yeah, Snapchat is honestly one of the trickier ones because messages disappear by design - that’s literally the whole point of the app.
A few realistic options: if her iPhone is on your Apple account, Screen Time can block Snapchat entirely or limit it, and Family Sharing shows you app usage time - not content, but you’d at least know how much she’s on it. For actual message content, most monitoring apps (mSpy, Bark, etc.) need physical access to install and some work better on Android than iPhone, so manage your expectations there.
Honestly though, the secretive behavior thing - sometimes just having a calm “hey I’ve noticed you seem stressed lately” conversation cuts through more than any app ever will, and you don’t tip her off that you’re watching.
