Hello. The green dot or “Active now” status indicates that the user has been active on Facebook or Messenger within the last few minutes.
To change your own status, open Messenger, tap your profile picture, and find the “Active Status” setting to toggle it off. Please note that disabling your own active status will also prevent you from seeing the status of other accounts.
