Samsung Electronics has announced a new “ISOCELL Dual” camera setup that includes dual ISOCELL sensors and a software designed to go with it. The main aim of this new setup is to bring low light shooting and portrait mode to budget-oriented and mid-range Android Smartphones.
Even though dual-camera setup in really popular these days, especially in premium handsets, it is actually a headache and time-consuming task for manufacturers to make the two different sensors work with the software that is supposed to support the camera.
With the new solution for dual-camera setup from Samsung, which brings a proprietary optimized software for its ISOCELL dual-camera sensors, it will now be easier for manufacturers, especially the budget and mid-range Smartphone manufacturers to add a dual-camera setup on their phones.
The software makes it even easier for manufacturers as the portrait mode will be supported by a 13MP+5MP setup whereas the low light mode will be supported by an 8MP+8MP setup.
