The Nokia 808 PureView, Nokia N95 and Nokia Lumia 1020 with its 41MP PureView camera brought a lot of technology and innovation into the mobile camera. Under the new leadership of HMD Global, it seems like Nokia is trying to innovate the camera-space of Smartphones again.
A source familiar with the Research and Development wing at Foxconn, the manufacturer for Nokia devices, has reported that the company has already built a Smartphone with 5-lens rear camera setup and that the device is currently undergoing testing.
A concept image was also earlier leaked on Chinese social media website Baidu, which featured the 5-lens setup along with LED flash units in a circular module similar to what we have seen with the Nokia Lumia 1020.
The reports also claim that the device will enter mass production by mid-2018. Other sources have reported rumors of the 5-lens Nokia Smartphone to be dubbed as the Nokia 10 and that the device will be launched during the IFA 2018 event in Berlin scheduled for September 2018.
The alleged Nokia 10 is also rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is capable of supporting a maximum of up to 7 different camera lenses of up to 32MP each.
