Mobile world congress is one of the most anticipated events of the year for consumers and companies alike. This MWC, HMD Global owned Nokia, is all set to take the markets by storm and one of their warrior in this battle is the Nokia 7 Plus. Can it catch up with its competition in the already crowded smartphone markets? Let’s find out.

The Nokia 7 Plus is taking on the Mid-level smartphone market, and with the likes of Honor 7X and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 and 5 Pro competing against it, this will not be an easy feat to accomplish so let’s look at what the Nokia 7 Plus has to offer

Nokia 7 Plus Display

The Nokia 7 Plus touts a 6 inch IPS display FHD+ (2160×1080 Pixels) resolution with an 18:9 aspect ratio screen covered in Gorilla glass 3 with rounded edges. The display curves around the edges of the phone. It has 2.5D curved glass which will also cover the front facing shooter as well as the Nokia branding.

Nokia 7 Plus Build and Design

The Nokia 7 Plus comes with an all-metal build with accents to the camera lenses and the fingerprint sensor. Overall it has a clean and minimalistic design like its predecessors which is a good thing in my opinion. It has just the right amount of flair to it attributable to the accents.

Nokia 7 Plus Specifications

The Nokia 7 Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 660 which has eight custom Kryo cores developed by Qualcomm which makes the chip powerful enough to compete with the big guns like the Snapdragon 820 and 821. The phone will have 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM coupled with 64 GB of internal memory expandable via the help of a micro SD card. Sadly, the phone has a hybrid slot so you will be giving up on dual sim capabilities if you want to expand the already abundant internal storage.

Nokia 7 Plus Battery and Charging

The phone is quite powerful but since the SoC is based on the 14 nm FinFet process it is quite efficient too. The Nokia 7 Plus has a 3800 mAh battery which is not removable, That’s a sad thing, but we think it should easily last the user two full days of power-usage so that should make up for it.

Nokia 7 Plus Camera

Nokia 7 Plus has two cameras at the back, a 12 megapixel and a 13-megapixel sensor working in tandem. The 12 Megapixel sensor  is a relatively wide angle sensor with f/1.75 aperture, and 1.4-micron pixels whereas the 13 megapixel one is a zoom lens with f/2.6 aperture, 1-micron pixels, and 2x optical zoom, both of them tout Carl Zeiss optics for enhanced smartphone imagery and come with dual pixel phase detection autofocus. it also uses super-pixel technology which combines 4 individual pixels into one for a clearer crisper image.

For the selfie lovers the Nokia 7 Plus is going to be a delight as it sports a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture and full HD video recording, this although nothing new is still very good for the social media influencers and vloggers out there.

Bothie, a signature for Nokia’s recent devices is present too so that a user can share both the videos and images from the rear as well as the front camera at the same time.

Nokia 7 Plus Software

The Nokia 7 Plus is a part of the Android One program and hopefully will be receiving speedy updates. At launch the phones ships with Android 8.0 Oreo. Nokia will be shipping a pretty stock-like version of android with their devices with minimal customization as they have been doing in the recent past.

Nokia 7 Plus Miscellaneous

The phone will come with a USB Type C port with support for Quick Charge 3.0, the usual host of sensors will be present as well. A rear-mounted fingerprint sensor with nice looking accents is present too which is placed just below the camera sensors. Connectivity includes the likes of Dual-band ac WI-FIi, Bluetooth 5.0 GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS et cetera. There will be two available colors at launch, a black version as well as a white version both with copper/rose gold accents.

Nokia 7 Plus Price and Availability

The Nokia 7 plus is priced at EUR 399 (Aprox. Rs. 31000). the phone will be available for purchase from April.

The international version will be launched in countries like India, USA, and the UK. we are definitely looking forward to get our hands on the Nokia 7 Plus.
