Android one program by Google focussed on providing latest Android updates to the devices that were manufactured on the hardware and software specified by Google, but the android one program failed miserably in the first phase.Now Google is working on Android Go devices that will be launching soon in the Indian market which will be running Google’s Android Oreo Go Edition.
The first generation of Android one devices that include: Android one smartphones from Spice, Karbonn, and Micromax that were launched on 15 September 2014.
XDA Recognized Developer varun.chitre15 has just uploaded an early alpha build of Lineage OS 15.1 that brings Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition to these devices.
Android Go Oreo Edition is a shaved version of Original Full fledged Android Oreo that is optimized for lower-end devices, Android one devices are the perfect example that they pack low-end specifications like 1 GB of RAM and MediaTek 1.3 GHz quad-core processor.
Android Oreo Go Edition consumes much less power and is also battery efficient at the same time.The device is used by the developer is Micromax A1, below are some screenshots provided by the developer.
Unofficial Lineage OS 15.1 for sprout4 is still in alpha stage with some bugs like the camera not working and some other important functions might not work properly, some major bugs are expected in an alpha build.
