Android OEM’s are very hesitant to push software updates to their products. Even though every Android device has support for software updates for 2 years from the date of release, most of the manufacturers release very few software updates, or in the worst case,¬†does not release software updates at all, except for their flagship products.

Xiaomi is one of the few brands that has regularly updated almost all their devices to latest Android software. As the latest MIUI 9 software update is beginning its rollout phase, Xiaomi has released a list of 40 devices that are scheduled to receive the update. And surprisingly, the list includes devices as old as 6 years.
