We already posted a news earlier about latest flaws in processor dubbed as Meltdown and Spectre that is not only limited to processors used in Laptops, Devices like your smartphones that run on specific processors like Intel ( Very few devices ), ARM etc.
Meltdown and Spectre are the two vulnerabilities caused by a mechanism known as  Speculative Execution which is a technique used by major processor companies to optimize the performance.

Steps To Prevent Your Android Device

Android OS is widely used by a number of manufacturers and it is also the duty of OEMs to provide latest security patches to the device once they are pushed by the google.

Arm development team posted an article with the processors affected and The major processors that are affected are Cortex A57 used in 2015 flagships powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor and Cortex A73 that core is used in latest flagship processor Snapdragon 835 that is featured in many flagships like Galaxy S8, Note 8, Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

Accept All Security Patches & Updates

There is not a surety that Android devices are vulnerable to the processor flaws but Google claims that the latest security update to fix ARM-based processor vulnerabilities.

As there is a flaw in the processor, a complete solution is to buy a new Android device with a new improved architecture but that would not be feasible for the OEM as well as the user so best options right now is to make sure your device runs on latest firmware with security patches.

If your device does not support updates then you can go ahead and install a custom ROM that might contain latest security patch.

Be Careful Which Apps You Install

Avoid installing apps from unauthorizes sources that could come with an exploit that has an entire power to hack your smartphone, it just takes a single line of code to entirely take control of your smartphones that can be used to store your sensitive information like passwords, credit card information and so on.

As there are many sources ( websites ) to download your favourite apps, we request you to not indulge in installing apps from unknown sites that might contain a malware.
